There are so many reasons to want to learn how to play the acoustic guitar. It's a great way to express yourself musically. Sure, the piano is a great instrument as well, but how do you carry a piano in your trunk so you can whip it out when everyone wants to sing? How many times have you been sitting around a campfire and someone whips out a piano and starts leading a group song?
Electric guitars are great, but you sill have to carry around an amp and hope to have an outlet to plug it into. And don't get me started about those tinny-sounding portable amps that run on batteries (and go dead on you right in the middle of of a stellar performance!)
